Alberto Romão Dias (1941 – 15 July 2007) was a full professor of the Chemical and Biological Engineering Department at the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) of the Technical University of Lisbon in Portugal.

His alma mater includes graduating from industrial-chemical engineering at the Instituto Superior Técnico in 1964, a Ph.D. in chemistry from Oxford University in 1970, and Aggregation at the Instituto Superior Técnico in 1979.
Another program, under the same name, was established in partnership with the Technical Institute (IST) of the University of Lisbon for the development of a remotely-controlled vehicle for flight testing new aeronautical composites and materials.
Ernesto M. Morgado is Associate Professor of Computer Science and Engineering in Instituto Superior Técnico (Technical University of Lisbon) since 1992.

He was one of the people behind the creation of the Computer Science and Engineering degree of Instituto Superior Técnico (Technical University of Lisbon), in 1988, and one of the founders of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the same institute in 1998.

Ernesto M. Morgado has been awarded a Licentiate degree in Mechanical Engineering (1976) from Instituto Superior Técnico (Technical University of Lisbon) and a Master of Science in Computer Science (1981) and a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence (1986) from State University of New York at Buffalo.
It has three campi, all located in the Greater Lisbon area (Alameda in Lisbon, Taguspark in Oeiras and Tecnológico e Nuclear Campus in Loures), and consists of ten Departments and one Autonomous Section that are responsible for teaching the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

In 2001, IST inaugurated a new campus in Oeiras, located in a science and technology park, the TagusPark, which involves more than 120 technology-based companies.
Norton de Matos returned to teaching, accepting a position as professor at the Instituto Superior Técnico, but was dismissed from his chair.
While at the Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon he befriended other Angolan students who were associated with the Casa dos Estudantes do Império, the student association of Portuguese students from the overseas.
The hybrid Trefftz method is also being applied to some fields, e.g. computational modeling of hydrated soft tissues or water-saturated porous media, through ongoing research project at the Technical University of Lisbon, Instituto Superior Técnico in Portugal.

It is a top-level engineering school, known to be one of the best in Europe, as well as in Portugal with Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia da Universidade Nova de Lisboa and Instituto Superior Técnico.
This includes several facilities maintained by the Instituto Superior Técnico, several large-scale IT facilities, Millennium BCP and the former IBM/PT-SI co-hosting data-center.
Dey has offered courses on turbulent flow, sediment transport and scour in different universities of various countries, such as the University of Hong Kong, Università di Pisa, University of Calabria, Politecnico di Milano, University of Florence, University of Oulu, Instituto Superior Técnico, National Chung Hsing University etc.
