178th–179th Street Tunnels

In the 1950s, the Trans-Manhattan Expressway (Interstate 95) was constructed by Robert Moses and by 1962, the two tunnels were out of commission.

1998 Pepsi 400

During the days leading up to the scheduled start of practice at 3pm, Thursday, July 2, 1998, concerns rose on account of the massive wildfire outbreak that was underway in central Florida; thousands of people were forced to evacuate the area, and Interstate 95, the primary north–south thoroughfare through the region, was closed.

Beltway bandits

(The entire road is officially called Interstate 495, although the eastern half is cosigned with Interstate 95, which traverses most of the East Coast.)

Carmel, Maine

At the southeast corner of the interchange with Interstate 95 (SR 9) was the site of Six Flags Atlantis, a water park that was in existence in the 1980s and early 1990s.

Koreatown, Fort Lee

Interstate 95, U.S. Route 46, and New Jersey Route 4 all provide access to Main Street and Lemoine Avenue; New Jersey Route 63 and County Route 501 connect Fort Lee Koreatown to Palisades Park Koreatown; while Interstate 80, the New Jersey Turnpike, and U.S. Route 1/9 also serve the vicinity.

New Jersey Route 93

Route 93 begins to fall in elevation, entering a residential district before crossing under the New Jersey Turnpike (Interstate 95).

Oakland, Maine

The completion of Interstate 95 in the 1960s increased Oakland's relationship with the Augusta area, and to some extent the Greater Portland and Bangor areas.

Ripken Stadium

The stadium is part of Cal Ripken, Jr.'s Aberdeen Complex in his hometown of Aberdeen, Maryland, located just off Interstate 95 at Maryland Route 22.

Transportation in Brevard County, Florida

Extending all the way from the northern boundary with Volusia County to the southern boundary with Indian River County is the major expressway Interstate 95, which links all cities in Brevard County with each other, and with Daytona Beach to the north, and Vero Beach to the south.
