Adelardo Rodríguez

During his spell, the club won three La Liga titles (65–66, 69–70 and 72–73), five Copa del Reys (1960, 1961, 1965, 1972 and 1976), the 1962 European Cup Winners' Cup, the 1974 Intercontinental Cup.

Antonio Biosca

He appeared in 219 La Liga games over the course of ten seasons (eight goals), with Betis, and represented Spain at the 1978 World Cup.

He became famous at Vallecas, but he played his best at Atlético, where he played a total of 73 La Liga games, scoring only 5 goals despite playing as a midfielder.

Antonio Prats Cervera

In a career mainly spent with Betis, he appeared in 338 La Liga games over the course of 12 seasons (467 in 17 both major levels combined), winning one Copa del Rey with his main club.

José Murcia

On 9 January 2006, following a 0–0 La Liga home draw against Valencia CF, he was appointed the Colchoneros first team's manager, replacing sacked Carlos Bianchi; the club ranked 12th at that time, going on to finish the campaign in tenth position.

Juan Carlos Arteche

Born in Maliaño, Cantabria, Arteche started playing professionally with hometown's Racing de Santander, making his debuts in the 1976–77 season and playing 19 La Liga games as the club finished 15th, barely avoided relegation.

Kiko Casilla

On 20 January 2008 he made his debut in La Liga in a 1–2 away loss against Real Valladolid, coming on as a substitute for injured Iñaki Lafuente two minutes after half-time, as first-choice Carlos Kameni was away on international duty; that month, news surfaced that Arsenal were interested in acquiring the young Spaniard's services.

Lucas Gaúcho

After the rescision, Lucas signed a 4-and-a-half contract with La Liga club Espanyol Barcelona, according to his Twitter.

Luis López Rekarte

After losing the 1988 domestic cup final to FC Barcelona, López Rekarte moved to the La Liga giants, alongside José Mari Bakero and Txiki Begiristain.

Born in Bárzana de Quirós, Asturias, Marcial made his professional debuts with Elche CF at the age of 18, finishing his first season in La Liga – he only competed in the main category during his professional career – with 24 games and three goals.

Miguel Alfonso Herrero

After a string of midfield injuries to the main squad (Rubén Baraja, Edu and Manuel Fernandes) he was called up by coach Unai Emery, making his La Liga debut against FC Barcelona, playing 20 minutes in a 0–4 away loss on 6 December 2008 (previous to that, he had already appeared in a domestic cup game against Club Portugalete, where he also scored).

Miguel Tendillo

Born in Moncada, Valencia, Tendillo started his professional career with local giants Valencia CF, being an automatic first-choice since the age of 18 (29 La Liga matches in his first full season, which culminated with the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup conquest – he started in the final against Arsenal).

Oliver Neuville

In 1996–97 Neuville played in Spain with CD Tenerife, where he was part of a well-balanced offensive line that also featured Juanele (eight goals), Meho Kodro (six), Antonio Pinilla (seven) and Aurelio Vidmar (one), netting five goals in 1,885 minutes as the Canary Islands side easily retained its La Liga status, and also playing a relatively important part in the club's semifinal run in the UEFA Cup.

Plaza de Cibeles

The fountain of Cibeles has been adopted by the football club Real Madrid, whose fans use the area to celebrate its triumphs in competitions such as La Liga, the Champions League or the Copa del Rey.

Sebastián Losada

He did, however, score eight La Liga goals in just 16 appearances in the 1989–90 season, with Real crowned champions, adding the club's goal number 400 in the European Cup in a 2–2 draw at FC Tirol Innsbruck on 7 November 1990.

Sergi López Segú

He made his first-team debut on 31 January 1988, in a match against UD Las Palmas in the Camp Nou; including Copa del Rey and European matches, he eventually totalled 54 appearances scoring once, and helped Barça win one La Liga championship, two Spanish Cups and the 1988–89 edition of the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup.
