Colonel Calvin Ira Kephart LL.D. (1883–1969) was an American professor of law, genealogist, historian, expert on heraldry and amateur ethnologist.
Illinois College awarded him a Doctor of Divinity degree in 1902, and the University of Rochester awarded him a Doctorate in Law the same year.
In 1861, Moses Hampton, LLD, a judge and member of Congress, signed the documents necessary to make Hampton into a municipality comprising parts of McCandless, Indiana, and West Deer townships.
He visited the United Kingdom to attend the 450th jubilee of the University of Glasgow in June 1901, and received an honorary doctorate (LL.D) from the university.

Born in Leland, Michigan, Lederle graduated from Eastern Michigan College in 1909, and received an LL.B. from Detroit College of Law in 1915, an LL.M. from the University of Detroit School of Law in 1923, and an LL.D. from Wayne State University in 1952.
