The area of Wigtown, the name of the relevant lieutenancy area of the Lord Lieutenant, encompasses not only the town of Wigtown, but of Wigtownshire.
Unlike many counties, Selkirkshire has not continued to exist as a lieutenancy area, but has become part of Roxburgh, Ettrick and Lauderdale for these purposes.
