Eirlys Warrington

A ward manager role in orthopaedic and trauma nursing at North Staffordshire Royal Infirmary was followed by a move to the Accident and Emergency Department to become part of the developing M6 motorway accident team.

Mohammed Asha

On 1 July 2007, the day after the attack on Glasgow Airport, Asha and his wife were arrested in a rolling roadblock on the M6 motorway in Cheshire.


A74 road

As of 2008, the A74(M) motorway extends southwards to the northern terminus of the M6, at the Scottish border, so that the two are now contiguous, and was extended northwards in the mid-1990s as far as the Glasgow suburb of Tollcross.

Bescot Stadium

The stadium is situated less than a mile from junction 9 of the M6 motorway, has a mainline railway station within easy walking distance and parking spaces for around 1,200 vehicles.

Blackrod

The M61 motorway, part of the national motorway network between the M60/M62 (Manchester orbital motorway) and the M6 (Preston) was opened on 28 November 1969 by Fred Mulley, Minister of Transport.

Grayrigg Forest

M64 motorway

The United Kingdom's M64 motorway was planned during the 1970s to link the M6 at Stoke-on-Trent with the M1 near Castle Donington, by way of Uttoxeter and Derby.

River Petteril

The source of the Petteril is near Penruddock and Motherby, from where the young river runs northeast through Greystoke, Blencow and Newton Reigny, before passing under the M6 motorway, after which the river turns north, and the motorway roughly follows the course of the river towards Carlisle.

Woolston, Cheshire

The M6 motorway runs down the eastern edge of the district and the A57 to Manchester and Liverpool runs directly through the district.
