In 1753, a Paravana of Asif ad-Dawlah Mir Ali Salabat Jang, Subedar of Deccan conceded to Marquis de Bussy the paraganas of Chicacole, Ellore, Rajahmundry etc. with an annual revenue RS.2, 00,000 for the maintenance of the French troops in the Subah in recognition of the help of these Circars amounted up to 10 lakhs of Rupees per year.

The Yanam region was presented to the Marquis de Bussy, the French General by Vizianagaram King Pusapati Peda Vijaya Rama Raju (1670–1756) as a token of gratitude for the help rendered by him in the fight against the rulers of Bobbili.

The war was fought between the Rajah of Vizianagaram, Vijayaramaraju aided by the Bussy, the then French General and the Rajah of Bobbili.

Antoine de Castelnau

Antoine de Castelnau was the son of Louis de Castelnau, baron of Castelnau, Miremont, Buanes and Bats,(1460–before 1529), and Susanne de Gramont (died after 1525).

Castelnau was in London during the dramatic fall of Anne Boleyn, the second wife of Henry VIII, and it was under the ambassador's roof that his secretary, Lancelot de Carle, an eye-witness to the queen's trial and execution, wrote a controversial poem detailing her life and all that he had seen and heard.

Giant of Castelnau

The bones of the Castelnau giant were studied at the University of Montpellier and examined by M. Sabatier, professor of Zoology, at the University of Montpellier, and M. Delage, professor of paleontology at the University of Montpellier, in addition to other anatomists.

It is of some interest that in 1894, press accounts mentioned a further discovery of bones of human giants unearthed at a prehistoric cemetery at Montpellier, France (5 km Southwest of Castelnau) while workers were excavating a water works reservoir.
