The ensemble is a resident ensemble of the Southbank Centre, where it performs much of its London season under both its Conductor Laureate Oliver Knussen and guest conductors such as Diego Masson, Pierre-André Valade, Martyn Brabbins and George Benjamin.
In December 2011, Brabbins was announced as the next chief conductor of the Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra, and formally took up the post with the 2013-2014 season.
The orchestra's current chief conductor is Martyn Brabbins, who was named to the post in December 2011 and formally took up the chief conductorship with the 2013-2014 season.

Oehring has also worked with different artists from all areas such as Ruth Berghaus, Ulrike Ottinger, Till Nikolaus von Heiseler, Daniele Abbado, Claus Guth and Maxim Dessau, the choreographer Joachim Schlömer as well as the conductors Ingo Metzmacher, Lothar Zagrosek, Martyn Brabbins and Roland Kluttig.
Savaskan's music has been programmed widely by organisations and ensembles such as the ICA (Institute of Contemporary Arts, London) - in particular its fine 'MusICA' series run for many years by Adrian Jack, the BBC, Lontano, the Balanescu Quartet, the Smith Quartet, the S.E.M. Ensemble of New York, and such conductors as Martyn Brabbins, Zsolt Nagy and Petr Kotik.
The Land of the Mountain and the Flood and excerpts from MacCunn's opera Jeanie Deans were recorded in Govan Town Hall in June 1995 by the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra conducted by Martyn Brabbins and released by Hyperion Records the same year.
