It is based on a light novel series by En Mikami, which also inspired an ongoing manga in Altima Ace, later moved to Monthly Asuka.
A spin-off manga drawn by Fumino Hayashi, following roughly the same storyline as the game, was serialized in the Monthly Asuka in November 2003 and is available in volumes from the same publisher.
