From Mao to Mozart: Isaac Stern in China is a 1980 documentary film about Western culture breaking into China produced and directed by Murray Lerner.
Produced and directed by Lerner, the film was a documentary shot between 1963 and 1966 at the Newport Folk Festival that included performances by Buffy Sainte-Marie, Donovan, Pete Seeger, Judy Collins, Bob Dylan, Peter, Paul & Mary, Johnny Cash and Joan Baez.
Tan features prominently in Sheila Melvin and Jindong Cai's Rhapsody in Red: How Western Classical Music Became Chinese and in Murray Lerner's 1979 documentary, From Mao to Mozart: Isaac Stern in China.
