After Perkins left Avalon a few years later, Irving Azoff and Bob Getties bought into the company and it was sold to SFX a few years later.

It grew out of the ashes of LA's early progressive concert company, Pinnacle Dance Concerts, which was founded in 1967 by Sepp Donahower, Marc Chase and John Van Hamersveld.
