In 1933 Cavalli, together with Capogrossi and Melli wrote the "Manifesto del Primordialismo plastico" (Manifesto of Plastic Primordialism) defining the Tonalist Creed, with special emphasis on the style's spiritual and abstract side.
Between 1986 and 1990 Jacanamijoy received a Master in Plastic Arts from the National University of Colombia in Bogotá.
He has won a diverse collection of awards, among them the National Sculpture Prize at the Hall of Plastic Arts in Caracas (1951), First Prize at the Sculpture Biennial of Budapest (1971), the Acquisition Prize of the Contemporary Art Museum of Caracas at the Biennial of Visual Arts (1981) and Special Prize in the 3rd Kotaro Takamura Grand Prize Exhibition at the Hakone Open-Air Museum outside of Tokyo (1982).
Born Eva Drewlow in New Hampton, Iowa, she received the first graduate degree in fine arts granted by the University of Iowa School of Art and Art History (Master's in Graphic and Plastic Arts, 1924).
There are also works by local Malagan artists Manuel Barbadillo, Enrique Brinkmann, Eugenio Chicano, Jorge Lindell, Francisco Peinado, and Dámaso Ruano; works by Carlos Durán, Joaquín de Molina, Diego Santos, and Joaquín Gallego; works by the winners of the Beca Pablo Ruiz Picasso a las Artes Plásticas (Pablo Ruiz Picasso Scholarship for the Plastic Arts); and a small collection of sculpture.
Valdés has received various awards, including the Lissone and Biella in Milan in 1965; the silver medal in the second International Prints Biennial in Tokyo; an award from the Bridgestone Art Museum in Lisbon; the Alfons Roig Award in Valencia; the National Award for the Fine Arts in Spain; a medal from the biennial International Festival of the Plastic Arts in Baghdad; and in 1993 the Medal of the Order of Andrés Bello in Venezuela.
His sculpture and plastic arts projects have received some exposure in Sweden, such as his art project that consisted of a woodpecker placed on a traffic camera on the E4 near Stockvik.
Because of his obvious talent, his parents sent him to the School of Cambodian Arts (now the Department of Plastic Arts of the Royal University of Fine Arts) in Phnom Penh.
In 1924 the University of Iowa conferred the first graduate degree "Matser's in Graphic and Plastic Arts" to Eve Drewelowe.
