5 unusual facts about Pyke Koch

Eugène Peters

Many creatures in his paintings seem nevertheless to have stepped straight out of a Hieronymus Bosch landscape, while he has also drawn inspiration from artists such as Pieter Breughel the Elder and, to take a more contemporary example, Pyke Koch.

Pyke Koch

He was very much inspired by painters of the Italian quattrocento, most notably the work of Piero della Francesca.

He was most impressed with the painters of the Italian Renaissance Piero della Francesca, Masaccio and Mantegna.

During his student days he played with a student gypsy band called Tzigane.

Koch became a member of Verdinaso but renounced it when it merged with the Dutch Nazi party NSB.
