Its holdings include ownership of various major EDM promoters (and in turn, major festivals, such as Tomorrowland, Electric Zoo, Stereosonic, Voodoo Experience, and a 50% stake in Rock in Rio among others), several nightclubs in the Miami area, the online music store Beatport, and several music-oriented web development firms.

It was founded in 2004, and in 2013 bought by Robert F. X. Sillerman's company SFX Entertainment, for a reported price of slightly over $50 million.
Minneapolis purchased and renovated three historic theaters on Hennepin Avenue which are leased and managed through 2035 by a non-profit trust and guaranteed by Clear Channel Communications subsidiary SFX Entertainment and spin-off Live Nation.
