Previously Martin appeared in the show itself as a Time Lord in the 1969 serial The War Games opposite Second Doctor Patrick Troughton and later guested in the 1993 Doctor Who radio play The Paradise of Death alongside Third Doctor Jon Pertwee and the 2003 Doctor Who audio drama Flip-Flop alongside Seventh Doctor Sylvester McCoy.
Pearson went on to produce many more novelisation covers, including first edition covers for all of the seventh Doctor adaptations (excluding Time and the Rani for which he later supplied a reprint cover) and a number of first and second Doctor covers such as the first edition of The Edge of Destruction.

Deborah Watling (b. 1948), actress who played Victoria Waterfield, companion to the second Doctor, and who appeared regularly from 1967-1968 in Doctor Who
