Battle of Songjin

Hong Chengchou's 130,000 elite troops, sent to break the siege of Jinzhou, were crushed by the Eight banner armies of the Qing Dynasty at Songshan.

Meanwhile, Zu Dashou still maintained the defence of Jinzhou and used Songshan, Xishan and Tashan as defensive wings.

Chifeng

As of the 2010 census, 1,094,970 of these residents reside within in the urban districts of Hongshan, Yuanbaoshan and Songshan.

However, a large part of Songshan is still rural and Yuanbaoshan is a de facto separate town 27 kilometers away from the core district of Chifeng.


Civic Blvd Expressway

The highway begins at the MacArthur Bridges in the east(connecting the Neihu district, and Keelung Road (in the Xinyi and Songshan districts), heads west to an interchange with the Zhongxiao Bridge and the Huanan Expressway, providing direct access to Taipei Main Station, which is just south of the Civic Blvd.

Civil Air Transport

Before landing to Taipei Songshan Airport, the plane failed to capture ILS signal from TSA, caused it crashed at Linkou, resulting in 21 deaths for all 52 passengers.

Qidong Street Japanese Houses

Prior to the construction of the Taipei City Walls, one could travel from Mengjia (today's Wanhua District) past the East Gate area and along Qidong Street which joined Bade Road, leading to Songshan, Nangang, and eventually Keelung.

Songshan Station

March 30, 1936: Songshan Airport Line (until May 1, 1966 Songshan Power Station Line) begins operation from Songshan Station to Taipei Songshan Airport.
