İZBAN started operation of its Southern Line on August 30, 2010, operation of its Northern Line began on December 5, 2010 (Alsancak-Çiğli) and finally opened to Aliağa on January 31, 2011.
İZBAN currently has two routes; The Northern Line, serving the northern districts of the city and into Aliağa, The Southern Line, serving the southern districts, Adnan Menderes Airport and the southern town of Menderes.
Route 74 would parallel to the north of Route 34 past the community of Cheesequake, crossing the southern line of Cheesequake State Park.
Trains travelling on the Northern Line to Chiang Mai, the Northeastern Line to Nong Khai and Ubon Ratchathani, and the Eastern Line to Aranyaprathet originate at the station, and so do some trains of the Southern Line, which terminates at Su-ngai Kolok and has a connection to Malaysia (the other Southern terminus is Thonburi).
