Their logo is similar to the Antifascist Circle and includes the logo of the former socialistic/antifashistic German Iron Front, a paramilitary organization which existed in the last years of the Weimar Republic.

The band has received an increased amount of attention after their music appeared in 3 Tony Hawk video games: Tony Hawk's Underground in 2003 ("Refusal"), Tony Hawk's American Wasteland in 2005 ("Question the Answer"), and Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam ("The Promise").
They instead found Matt Smith (later of Strike Anywhere) who was a guitarist, whereby Jedd moved back to playing the drums.

The band names several punk bands as influential - old school (Black Flag, Minor Threat) and new school (Pennywise, Strike Anywhere).
Another big tour, and a notable show in London at the Camden Underworld was recorded to later come out on DVD, along with long time touring partners, Strike Anywhere.
Three of the participating bands had other one-off releases with Fat following their participation in the Fat Club: MxPx's The Renaissance EP (2001), Randy's Randy the Band (2005), and Strike Anywhere's Dead FM (2006).
Over the years Sense Of Purpose have supported a host of touring bands including: Agnostic Front (US), H20 (US), AFI(US), Cro-Mags (US), Terror (US), Ensign (US), No Fun at All (Sweden), Strife (US), Champion (US), Citizen Fish (UK), Agent Orange (US), Balance (NZ), Shank (Scotland), DSM (NZ), Shutdown (US), Good Clean Fun (US), Strike Anywhere (US), Dayglo Abortions (Can) and Vitamin X (Neth).
Though the singles were limited, several of the bands re-released their tracks on compilation albums in the years following, including NOFX's 45 or 46 Songs That Weren't Good Enough to Go on Our Other Records (2002), Strike Anywhere's To Live in Discontent (2005), The Lawrence Arms' Cocktails & Dreams (2005), Swingin' Utters' Hatest Grits: B-Sides and Bullshit (2008), and Strung Out's Prototypes and Painkillers (2009).
The band supported Anti-Flag in October on the Vans Off The Wall Tour in Europe, flew home to play The Fest 9 in Gainesville, FL with The Suicide Machines, Strike Anywhere and A Wilhelm Scream.
