The upper level is open, 3-lane separated highway in both directions, while the lower level is the track for MTR Airport Express and Tung Chung Line, and two single-lane roads for emergency in both directions.
The existing Tung Chung Line will be extended along the northern coast of Hong Kong Island, with Tamar, Exhibition and Causeway Bay North Stations along the path.
Tsing Yi Station, at the northeastern part of Tsing Yi Island, in Tsing Yi Town, is served by MTR Tung Chung Line and Airport Express.
However, these Tung Chung Line trains do not stop at Airport.
MTR anticipated that the opening of the Disneyland Resort and Ngong Ping 360 would have an increase in passenger demand and therefore ordered four new trains for Tung Chung Line.
