Oregon Historic District

In 1974, Oregon was registered on the National Register of Historic Places, between Patterson Blvd. and Wayne Ave., north to Gates St. and south to U.S. Route 35, and Downtown Dayton (No. 75001506).

U.S. Route 35

Continuing west, the highway reverts to an expressway until it reaches Richmond Dale.

Originally, US 35 was routed from Charleston, West Virginia on the north side of the Kanawha River (the current West Virginia Route 62) until the collapse of the Silver Bridge in 1967.

This section of road provides westbound motorists with a panoramic view of the Scioto River valley.

Both stations eventually operated from the WELX transmitter site adjacent to U.S. Route 35 off June Drive in Xenia.


Centerville, Gallia County, Ohio

It is located near U.S. Route 35 near the eastern terminus of State Route 279 as the highways parallel each other for about 1/2 mile.
