This is the case for fungi such as Candida albicans, which inhabits the skin, mouth, GI tract, gut and vagina of mammals and can lead to systemic infections of immunocompromised patients; as well as for the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis, the major causative agent of tuberculosis.

Killer ape theory

Concerning the eating habits from then until now, Dart argues that there has always been an ambition to eating meat: grubs and insects, bigger mammals and even human flesh (i.e. distinctive cannibalism) are the results.

Kwakwaka'wakw

Many of the marine mammals they hunted for furs and food were sea otters, walruses, seals, and whales.

Lampbrush chromosome

Lampbrush chromosomes (first seen by Flemming in 1882) are a special form of chromosomes that are found in the growing oocytes (immature eggs) of most animals, except mammals.

Litter

Other instances where animals could be harmed by litter include broken glass lacerating the paws of dogs, cats, and other small mammals, fishing nets caught on the necks of seals and turtles, etc.

McKittrick, California

The McKittrick Tar Pits, which are similar to the more famous La Brea Tar Pits in Los Angeles, contain an assemblage of bones of ice age mammals.

Meta

For example: the term Metatheria (the name for the clade of marsupial mammals) uses the prefix meta- merely in the sense that the Metatheria occur on the tree of life adjacent to the Theria (the placental mammals).

Milks

Milks, nutrient-rich liquids secreted by the mammary glands of female mammals

Mitochondrial fusion

There is a mitochondrial outer membrane fusion machinery, composed by proteins of the Fzo1 family in yeast or by MFN1, MFN2 in mammals, and a mitochondrial inner membrane fusion machinery, with the Mgm1 protein in yeast or the equivalent OPA1 in mammals.

Montanoceratops

A fair number of mammals lived in this region, which included Turgidodon russelli, Cimolestes, Didelphodon, Leptalestes, Cimolodon nitidus, and Paracimexomys propriscus.

Montreux–Glion–Rochers-de-Naye railway

The line continues higher to the small village of Caux passing through Alpine meadows which, in the Springtime, are full of wild growing narcissus, forget-me-nots and others, before reaching its upper terminus at Rochers-de-Naye, the home of the Marmot Paradise, a centre where seven varieties of these small mammals can be seen in a natural environment.
