Acer browni

The last paratype leaf is from the species' northernmost location, having been recovered from an outcrop of the late early Miocene Skonun Formation on the northern side of Graham Island in the Haida Gwaii of British Columbia.

Albert Goodyear

The Allendale, South Carolina site, known as the Topper site, which has had ongoing excavations for several years, has unearthed many artifacts, as it was a long lasting site of human occupation due to an outcrop of chert, which was valuable for making stone tools.

Bangor Mountain

There are several rocky outcrops at high points on the mountain providing panoramic views of the city centre, the Menai Strait and over to the east of Anglesey, including the town of Beaumaris.

Banning State Park

Burton-in-Kendal

Durlinsdorf

Sts Peter and Paul, Durlinsdorf's historic Roman Catholic church, is built at the end of a rocky outcrop which overlooks the village and the valley of Grumbach.

It is known from six small, fragmentary fossils, which were found in an outcrop of the Morien Group near the town of Florence.

Eogavialis

The genus was first described by Charles William Andrews in 1901 when Andrews named a new species of Tomistoma, T. africanum, on the basis of a specimen found from an outcrop of the Qasr el-Sagha Formation in Egypt, about 20 miles northwest of Faiyum, dating back to the Priabonian stage of the late Eocene 37.2 to 33.9 million years ago.

Fernie Formation

The formation is exposed in outcrops in the Kootenay region of southeastern British Columbia, in the foothills and front ranges of the Canadian Rockies in southwestern Alberta, and as far north as the Peace River Country in northeastern British Columbia.

Frank Teich

Around 1900, Teich discovered a large outcrop of granite near Llano, Texas.

Haasts Bluff, Northern Territory

The Haasts Bluff community takes its name from the nearby outcrop, given this name in 1872 by the explorer Ernest Giles, after the New Zealand geologist, Julius von Haast.

Huby, Harrogate

A rocky outcrop known as Almscliffe Crag is about one mile north-west of the village; it is formed from millstone grit and is very popular with climbers and boulderers.

Icosahedrite

It occurs as tiny 0.1 mm grains in a small terrestrial rock sample labelled "khatyrkite, Khatyrka ultramafic zone, Koryak-Kamchatka area, Koryak Mountains, Russia", collected from an outcrop of weathered serpentinite (catalog number 46407/G, housed in The Museum of Natural History, University of Florence, Italy).

Isla del Pescado

Isla del Pescado, Isla de los Pescadores or Cujiri is a hilly and rocky outcrop of land in the middle of Salar de Uyuni – a salt flat situated in the Daniel Campos Province, Tahua Municipality, Caquena Canton, Bolivia.

Joseph Baptista Gardens

After the British arrived in Bombay in the 1660s, they selected Bhandarwala Hill, a basalt rocky outcrop as a site for the Mazagon Fort, that was built in 1680.

Kettle Point is the site of a rare outcrop of an Upper Devonian shale called the Kettle Point Formation.

Lögberg, or Law Rock, was a rocky outcrop in south west Iceland, at the location for the assembly of the country's Althing parliament.

Saliotite was first described in 1994 for an occurrence in an outcrop of high grade schist north of Almeria, Andalusia, Spain.

Spavinaw terrane

The rocks are almost entirely known from drill core and only exposed in outcrop near Spavinaw, Mayes County, Oklahoma and parts of the Saint Francois Mountains in Washington County, Missouri.

SS Eider

The club was and still is based in the city of Hereford, but took its name from the Woolhope Dome, an outcrop of Silurian rocks around the village of Woolhope to the south-east of the city.
