Deshamanya Dr. Badi-ud-din Mahmud (23 June 1904 - 1997) was a Sri Lankan politician.

Ibn al-Mu'tazz is best known, not as a political figure, but as a leading Arabic poet and the author of the Kitab al-Badi, an early study of Arabic forms of poetry.
His songs include work from the film Baaghi, composed by Anand-Milind: "Ek chanchal shokh hasina," "Chandni raat hai" and "Har kasam se badi hai."
On July 18, 2013 Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mojaheed was found guilty and received life sentence on the charge related to the killing of Rumi along with Badi, Jewel, Azad and Altaf Mahmud at the army camp set up in Nakhalpara, Dhaka, during the Liberation War.
