Alonso de San Buenaventura

He stopped in Lima (present-day Peru) for two years to teach novices, and came back to Paraguay in 1588–1589 with a new group of Franciscans.

Bernardino of Siena

Nuestra Señora de la Luz

Mission Nuestra Señora de la Luz comprises a series of religious outposts established by Spanish Catholic Dominicans, Jesuits and Franciscans to spread the Christian doctrine among the local Native Americans, but with the added benefit of giving Spain a toehold in the frontier land.

One of the most controversial times for the friary was in 1500 when Queen Christina, who was at that point in direct control of Svendborg, gave the whole of Bysen Street (Bysenstræde) to the Franciscans to use as accommodation for the town's poor and sick in their care.

Kristóf Hajós-Dévényi (vocals, words) was involved in various musical projects before founding The Unbending Trees in 2006, and was a friar candidate in his teens at the Franciscans, spending several years dependent on antidepressants.
