Any political opposition to Israel within the U.S. was however undermined by American politician Fiorello H. LaGuardia, pioneer of identity politics, and Canadian journalist Isaiah L. Kenen, founder of lobby group the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.
His family was active in the Zionist movement and his father established the first Bnei Zion club in Toronto and attended the first meetings of the World Zionist Congress.

Isaiah L. Potts (1784?- after 1843) was born in Loudoun County, Virginia and lived in Union County, Kentucky and Hardin County, Illinois.
