Johann Mattheson

All of his music, except for one opera, one oratorio, and a few collections of instrumental music, went missing with the spoils of war after World War II, but was given back to Hamburg by Yerevan, in Armenia, in 1998.

John Mainwaring

In 1761 Johann Mattheson published an extended translation with sharp remarks on the biography of Mainwaring.

Non nobis

This attribution was repeated in the earliest known Continental source, Johann Mattheson's Der vollkommene Capellmeister (1739).


Johann Kusser

Kusser's works are now rarely played, but he influenced the following generation of composers, such as Reinhard Keiser, Johann Mattheson, Georg Philipp Telemann, Christoph Graupner, Georg Caspar Schürmann and Georg Friedrich Händel.
