Two increasingly popular therapeutic practices using Buddhist mindfulness techniques are Jon Kabat-Zinn's Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Marsha M. Linehan's Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

More recently, inspired by the work of Jon Kabat-Zinn, Brotto has been involved in the subject of mindfulness meditation skills for women with problems of low sexual desire/loss of arousal, sexual distress associated with sexual abuse.

Elfi Zinn, née Rost (born 24 August 1953 in Rathebur) is a German middle distance runner who specialized in the 800 metres.
He played Danny in the off-Broadway production of Sexual Perversity in Chicago by David Mamet and Trety in The Suicide by Nikolai Erdman starring Derek Jacobi. Zinn was a stand-in and photo-double for John Travolta in the celebrated film Saturday Night Fever in 1977.
Hall studied the effects of stress under medical pioneers such as Herbert Benson at the Harvard Mind/Body Institute, Dean Ornish of the Preventive Medicine Research Institute and Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Stress Reduction Center.
