Giroux is a Member of American Bandmasters Association (ABA)and an honorary brother of the Omicron Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi at West Virginia University.

In 1961, the University of Texas and Purdue University chapters of Kappa Kappa Psi, an honorary band fraternity, pledged to bring their drums to the national convention in Wichita, Kansas for a direct comparison; however, only Purdue showed up.
He also wrote several marches, including The Foundation, Pride of the 97, National Intercollegiate Band (named for the Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma-sponsored ensemble), and Seaside Park.
