On her 2008 album All I Intended to Be, Emmylou Harris includes the song "How She Could Sing the Wildwood Flower", co-written with Kate and Anna McGarrigle, about the relationship between A.P. and Sara, inspired by a documentary that the three of them saw on television.
The town was the childhood home—from about 1946 to 1960—of Canadian musicians Kate and Anna McGarrigle.

She is currently a painter and a backing vocalist in her cousin Martha Wainwright's band, and has appeared on various Kate and Anna McGarrigle albums, including The McGarrigle Hour (1998), La vache qui pleure (2003) and The McGarrigle Christmas Hour (2005).
Lucy is also the half-sister of singer-songwriters Rufus Wainwright and Martha Wainwright (whose late mother Kate was half of the Canadian folk duo Kate and Anna McGarrigle).
