Alpheus Hyatt

He and his wife, Audella Beebe, were the parents of famed sculptor Anna Hyatt Huntington; their other children were Harriet Randolph Hyatt Mayor, who was also a sculptor though less well known, (and mother of the art historian A. Hyatt Mayor), and Alpheus Hyatt III.

Andrew Jackson State Park

A notable park feature is a large bronze statue called Andrew Jackson, A Boy of The Waxhaws, sculpted by Anna Hyatt Huntington, that depicts a young Jackson astride a farm horse.

Putnam Statue: In 1969 at age 93, the sculptress Anna Hyatt Huntington donated the equestrian statue of General Israel Putnam which is situated at the entrance to the park.

Sybil Ludington

A statue of Sybil, sculpted by Anna Hyatt Huntington, was erected near Carmel, New York, in 1961 to commemorate her ride.
