Glas 1700

The Glas 1300 GT launched in 1963 had been developed by the Piedmontese firm Frua of Moncalieri, and a contract had at the same time been entered into for the development of a new middle class saloon.

Glas GT

The body had been designed by the Piedmontese firm Frua of Moncalieri, and the body shells were built in Moncalierei by the coach-builders Maggiora before being transferred to the Glas factory at Dingolfing for final assembly.

Glas V8

The contract for the car’s design again went to Frua of Moncalieri, with the proviso that as far as possible they should avoid the requirement to design new components where existing parts might be obtained from other manufacturers.

Maserati Kyalami

De Tomaso had Pietro Frua take Tom Tjaarda's design of the De Tomaso Longchamp (itself inspired by the Mercedes 450SLC) and modify the front and rear end to create a distinctive Maserati feel for the new car.
