It was collected in 1980 by James Malcolm from a locality along the Seaboard Coast Line Railroad in Charleston County in the vicinity of the Dorchester Road overpass.
Schlesinger was an instructor at John Marshall Law School in Atlanta, Georgia from 1967 to 1968 and corporate counsel for Seaboard Coast Line Railroad in Jacksonville, Florida from 1968 to 1970.

This rail route passed to the Seaboard Coast Line Railroad with the July 1, 1967 merger of the SAL and longtime rival Atlantic Coast Line Railroad, becoming the Charleston Subdivision, and the line downgraded with most traffic rerouting over the former ACL alignment to the west.
