The Ward, Toronto, a neighbourhood in central Toronto that for several decades was the centre of the city's Jewish community


Beach Hebrew Institute

The Beach Hebrew Institute was founded in 1919 by Jewish residents in The Beaches neighbourhood of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, which was then a largely Anglo-Saxon area in the east part of Toronto far removed from the Jewish neighbourhoods further to the west in The Ward and around Spadina Avenue.

Horton and Wraysbury

There are two polling stations within the ward - one inside the Village Hall in Wraysbury and the other in the Champney Hall in Horton.

Malise Graham, 1st Earl of Menteith

The exact date of his death is not known, but he was dead before May 19, 1490, perhaps not very long before that date, when a gift was made to John Home of Earlston of the ward of the lands of Gilmerton, held of Malise, Earl of Menteith, and then in the King's hands by his decease.

Wightbus

The Livery and Liverymen are actively involved in many organisations and charities in the City of London including Castle Baynard Ward Club, as the site of the Company's Hall until the Great Fire in 1666 is in the Ward.

Wyke

As well as the area of Wyke, the ward includes the adjoining hamlet of Lower Wyke, the area around Carr House, known as Carr House Gate, part of Oakenshaw the main part of which is in Kirklees, and most of Low Moor.
