Al-Mada'in ("The Cities") (Arabic: المدائن Al-Madā'in; Aramaic: Māhōzē) is the name given to the ancient metropolis formed by Seleucia and Ctesiphon (also referred to as Seleucia-Ctesiphon) on opposite sides of the Tigris River in present-day Iraq.

According to Wāqid ibn 'Amr Tamimi, the oldest biographer on Babak, Bābak's father was a Persian cooking-oil vendor from Ctesiphon, capital of the Sasanian Empire (modern al-Mada'in, 35 km south of Baghdad in Iraq) who left for the Azerbaijani frontier zone and settled in the village of Balālābād in the Maymadh district.

Mohammad Ali Mirza Dowlatshah (4 January 1789, Larijan, Amol, Mazandaran – 22 November 1821, Al-Mada'in, Iraq) was a famous Persian Prince of Qajar Dynasty.
Gajah Mada retained his position as mahapatih (Prime Minister) under the new king and continued his military campaign by expanding eastward into Logajah, Gurun, Seram, Hutankadali, Sasak, Buton, Banggai, Kunir, Galiyan, Salayar, Sumba, Muar (Saparua), Solor, Bima, Wandan (Banda), Ambon, Timor, and Dompo.
Efforts to form the cooperative began in 2008 with the support of 47 Mada’in Qada agricultural associations, Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, and the Iraq Ministry of Agriculture.
In December 2010, Mada signed an agreement in Ankara as a part of a regional consortium to initiate a 7,750 km Regional Cable Network (“RCN”) Project marking the beginning of a new era in the region.
Dedanite is used for the older phase of the history of this kingdom since their capital name was Dedan (see Biblical Dedan), which is now called Al-`Ula oasis located in northwestern Arabia, some 110 km southwest of Teima.
She is the only living English-language poet with a book in print in Arabic - her selected poems, Haleeb Muraq (Dar-Al Mada, 2003), was translated by the leading Iraqi poet, Saadi Yousef.
