Halprin, along with her contemporaries such as Trisha Brown, Simone Forti, Yvonne Rainer, John Cage, and Robert Morris, collaborated and built a community based around the fundamentals of post-modern dance.

She currently does research in connection with the Tamalpa Institute, based in Marin County, California, which she founded with her daughter, Daria Halprin, in 1978.
Click's live shows have drawn surprise guest appearances by a number of artists, including Carlos Santana, Elvin Bishop, James Nash of The Waybacks, and Angela Strehli, as well as drawing audience members such as Mort Sahl, Anna Halprin, and Robin Williams.
And they built a great community among the creative spirits of Alan Watts, Michael McClure, Anna Halprin, and Imogen Cunningham.
He also studied mime with R. G. Davis and dance with Anna Halprin.
