High Land, Hard Rain was the debut album by jangle pop, alternative rock, new wave band Aztec Camera, released in 1983.
In 1976, he moved to New York to become a noted studio musician, arranger and producer for a wide range of well-known artists, including Rihanna, Aaron Neville, Michael Franks, Carly Simon, Natalie Cole, Diana Krall, Steely Dan, Paul Simon, James Taylor, Chaka Khan, Eric Clapton, Madonna, Diana Ross, Donald Fagen, Brian Wilson, Aztec Camera and countless others.

The band were influenced by the chirpy sound of British 80s pop groups like Haircut One Hundred, Exhibit B, The Style Council and Aztec Camera, as well as the fashionably eclectic sounds of early 90s Britain, from indie dance to acid jazz.
Altered Images, were a big influence on Brandon at the time, as well as his other favourite bands such as The Cure, Aztec Camera, Syd Barret, The Coral, and 1960's psychedelic band July.
Mansfield went on to achieve considerable success in the field of production with After the Fire, a-ha, Aztec Camera, The B-52's, The Damned, Captain Sensible, Naked Eyes, Mari Wilson, Jean Paul Gaultier, Miguel Bosé, and Ana Torroja.
Tommy LiPuma had previously worked with artists like Miles Davis, Horace Silver, Randy Newman, and George Benson and had contributed production to Aztec Camera's Love album, 1987.
