1990–91 Juventus F.C. season

This time, under Luigi Maifredi's coaching, Juventus finished 7th, despite breaking the World record in terms of transfer fee, to bring in Fiorentina star striker Roberto Baggio.

Luigi Maifredi

Born in Lograto (Province of Brescia), over the course of his career Maifredi has managed at several clubs such as Bologna, Brescia and others, though he is most noted for his short spell with Juventus, where he lost six games in a row and got sacked.


Julián Rubio

In late April 1999, following spells with three teams (including Sevilla FC – in which he was one of four managers in 1996–97 and another four in the following season – and Club Bolívar in Bolivia), Rubio returned for the fourth time as Albacete coach, replacing Italian Luigi Maifredi late into the second level season and leading the Castile-La Mancha outfit to the 15th position (out of 22 teams).
