During this time he performed with notable artists including the Buddy Rich Big Band, Toshiko Akiyoshi, Blood Sweat & Tears, Slide Hampton, Bob Mintzer, Maria Schneider, Frank Sinatra, Sarah Vaughan, Joe Williams, Aretha Franklin, Mel Tormé, Peabo Bryson, Dave Liebman, Mulgrew Miller and Marc Copland.
In 1992, Frederique went to New York City to study jazz piano and harmony at the New School's Jazz and Contemporary Music Program with Kenny Werner, Fred Hersch and Maria Schneider.
During this time, he led his own quintet, played with the Swedish Radio Jazz Group and the Stockholm Jazz Orchestra, accompanying many famous visitors such as Bob Brookmeyer, Bob Mintzer, Jim McNeely, Joe Lovano, Phil Woods, Jimmy Heath, Maria Schneider and John Scofield.
During the 1990'th he also played with great international jazz names such as Philip Catherine, Paquito D'Rivera, Claudio Roditi, Gustavo Bergalli, Phil Woods, Andy Shepherd, Bennie Wallace, Joe Henderson, Maria Schneider, Martial Solal, Diana Krall, Mathias Rüegg and Gianluigi Trovesi.
Orchestra has played with many famous jazz musicians such as Dizzy Gillespie, Gil Evans, Mercer Ellington, McCoy Tyner, Maria Schneider, Michael Brecker, John Scofield and Lenny Pickett.
