The genus of trees Paulownia was coined by a Dutch botanist named Siebold to honour Anna Pavlovna.
Von Siebold was born 19 March 1801, the son of gynecologist Adam Elias von Siebold, in Würzburg, Germany.
At length he left Southern Germany and took his residence in Berlin from 1794 to 1798, where he got into contact with Barthel von Siebold, a son of a Würzburg surgeon Karl Kaspar von Siebold.
Karl Kaspar von Siebold (November 4, 1736 – April 3, 1807) was a German surgeon and obstetrician who was a native of Nideggen.
The surrounding forests are temperature deciduous, and are primarily Erman’s birch and Siebold’s beech.
For his contribution to the project, Siebold, along with Mike Melvill and Brian Binnie, received the 2004 Iven C. Kincheloe Award presented by the Society of Experimental Test Pilots.

Although he was one of four qualified pilots for SpaceShipOne, Siebold did not pilot the craft during the flights later in 2004 to meet the requirements of the Ansari X Prize.
