Bledlow railway station

A single siding equipped with a 2 ton yard crane handled goods traffic which consisted of watercress and English elm boles for trawling nets made locally in Longwick.

Cardington Workmen's Platform railway station

After the halt closed to passenger traffic in 1921, numerous sidings were constructed on the site to serve the camp and these were used to receive materials needed for the construction of the R100 and R101 airships.

The Wetheral train accident occurred in England at about 4pm on Saturday 3 December 1836 when a passenger train on the Newcastle and Carlisle Railway was wrongly diverted into a siding at Wetheral, a village close to Carlisle, Cumbria.
