Johann Christian Daniel von Schreber (Weißensee, Thuringia, 1739 – Erlangen, 1810), often styled I.C.D. von Schreber, was a German naturalist.
Some suspect that rather than a new species, however, it is a rediscovery of a monkey named Simia flavia, known only from a drawing by German taxonomist Johann Christian Daniel von Schreber.

Uncaria was named in 1789 by Johann von Schreber in his Genera Plantarum edition 8a (not to be confused with books of the same title by Linnaeus, Jussieu, and others).
