Since 2007 these timber trains have been operated to the Chirk Kronospan factory by Colas Rail Ltd.
They now also operate to destinations further south such as Teigngrace in Devon and Baglan Bay in South Wales.

Along with their Class 66 fleet, the company also hired Class 57s for log traffic from Crianlarich/Carlisle/Ribblehead to Chirk.
