Drygalski Island, Drygalski Glacier, Drygalski Fjord in South Georgia, and an avenue in the southern part of Munich were named after him, as is the crater Drygalski on the Moon.


Gaussberg

Discovered in February 1902 by the German Antarctic Expedition under Erich von Drygalski, who named it as his expedition ship in honour of Carl Friedrich Gauss.

Posadowsky Bay

Discovered in February 1902 by German Antarctic Expedition under Erich von Drygalski, who named it for Count Arthur von Posadowsky-Wehner, Imperial Home Secretary, who secured a government grant to cover the cost of the Drygalski expedition.

Vanhoffen Bluff

It is named for Ernst Vanhöffen (1858–1918), a German zoologist, and a member of the Gauss expedition under the leadership of Erich von Drygalski (1865–1949).
