What distinguished Hacı Osman köyü from all the other farming villages in the world was the fact that, until 1992, it was one of the few villages where the inhabitants spoke the Ubykh language in their daily lives.

Ubykh language

Ubykh has been cited in the Guinness Book of Records (1996 ed.) as the language with the most consonant phonemes, although it may have fewer than some of the Khoisan languages.


Applicative voice

Applicative constructions are found in various languages, particularly in highly agglutinative languages, such as Bella Coola (Nuxálk), Ubykh, Ainu and Bemba.
